my only reference was the beautiful pose i found on pinterest. i wanted to draw my character cherry in it because the pose, the expression, and clothes reminded me of her. i originally started to add the shadows and lighting after i got down the flat coloring but i ended up not liking how i was going about the process. it looked messy and incohesive so i ended up going back to the flat colors. but i had already merged all my coloring layers so my second attempt at rendering would be really difficult. i was going to call it quits and leave the drawing as an unfinished piece but then i wanted to at least give it a background… and then i added some cute pngs, and some overlay effects, noise, and gradients! i kept going because i desperately wanted the drawing to look at least “decent.” when i finally finished, i was, to my surprise, quite happy with the results! even if cherry was just a flat colored drawing, it turned into a fun collage-style piece. i think all the images and elements i added gives it an aesthetic visual appeal. so theres the story of this quick drawing! hope you like it :)
