This is my fan art illustration for the wonderful singer Veela! I attempted a bit of a more semi-realistic style for this piece so that I’d be able to capture more of her beautiful features :3
I took inspiration for the composition from Veela’s “Call Back” music video but also added some of my own artistic touches to the piece. I decided to use a very thin brush to render the details, which is always a very time-consuming process but I always love how it turns out! It’s a technique I picked up from the artist Ruan Jia. I also added some fun overlay effects to add some extra color, sparkles, and details!
Anyway, Veela is one of my absolute favorite singers and I’m listening to her every day. I thought it was about time I drew her!
