Trying to Draw Every Day Again :3

Since I started drawing seriously back in 2016, I’ve drawn pretty much almost every day. Drawing has always been my all-time favorite hobby and I would always make time for it!

Now that I’m older and have tons of work to do, I find myself drawing less often. And when I do, it’s usually art for my business, whether that be commissions, art for my shop/products, or just other business-related stuff. I honestly really miss drawing my OCs for hours and hours every week and I want to change that!

I’m trying a little challenge where I draw for at least one hour every day for 30 days. I started this challenge on the 8th of August, so not at the beginning of the month, but it’ll be over on the 8th of September for me.

So far, I’ve managed to keep up! And even though that means I’m staying up later than usual to make time for my drawings, I am so happy that I am. I’ve taken this challenge as an opportunity for me to get back into the habit I once had, and so I can draw my precious original characters more often. :3

As much as I value learning new things when I draw and making an effort to practice and get better at my weak points, I’m honestly not worrying about that too much with this challenge. I just want to enjoy drawing for the sake of drawing, give attention to OCs that I’ve not drawn in ages, and have fun returning to my daily drawing habit.

Anyway, here’s my four drawings I’ve made so far. The first drawing (top left) is of my character Papaya, who I recently redesigned. I wanted to draw her to practice and get a better feel for her new look! I also drew it during a livestream on my art/irl channel :3

The second drawing (top right) is of my character Maverick, who is one of my most energetic, outgoing, and friendly OCs. I usually always draw him with a big grin on his face but this time… I wanted to draw him in a more serious setting. He’s wearing his Starline ceremonial uniform, which means he’s probably at some pretty serious event.

The third drawing (bottom left) is of Ze. This time, I wanted to draw a bit of an action pose. I liked making this drawing because Ze is a character I don’t draw too often, but I think he’s super cool. I wanted to draw him “in his element,” aka, being a total badass! >:D

And lastly, the fourth drawing so far, (bottom right) is my character Toshiro. He’s my most despicable character, but I won’t get into details about that here. :3 I like how this drawing came out. The colors and dark lighting/background is really cool to me.

Anyway, I hope I can stick to this challenge for the rest of the days! I’ll make an updated post once it’s complete :3

  1. I tried to do that earlier this year but only managed to keep it up for a week. Might also try it again in September.
Also not me getting gender envy from the top two lol.
